The peace and prosperity that existed within dressrosa was only made possible through the repression of the experience of the oppressed class. In dressrosa the non-recognition of that class is literal, but it is what the world govt is always doing across the world regardless (like in alabasta)

By having the fights won by the gladiators instead of the straw hats it shows the people as a community rejecting the system of the world govt, which is ultimately more meaningful. That system is also represented on a micro scale in the toys system

Really enjoyed dressrosa! I think it’s an interesting foil to alabasta and smoker says as much at the end.

De-emphasising the straw hats is a weird choice, but i dont think it is without intention

but, it's end game of tod's is clearly some poopoo that arc sys is trying to avoid with tokons design. my only concern is that in over engineering to avoid a toxic high level, they may muddy the waters and lose the immediate joy of the first time play

been having a great time blasting dbfz with the homies. that games in a great space where its really easy to learn enough to get to a basic level of expression but its so fast in its play and constant in its decision making that at low level every match sprawls out into lots of situations 1/2

Took me about six weeks but I’ve hit chapter 500 in one piece!

Serious Sam enemy and encounter design is really great at forcing you to move (homing enemies) and then pushing you to move in weird ways because of projectiles/enemy proximity threat. Dodging a lunge while also jumping over projectiles or trying to avoid being on the scarier part of the room
