I only watched a few episodes of C3. There was something oddly... I don't know... saccharine about it? Which is weird because there were a lot of dark things going on. It's hard to describe.

I really wasn't jiving with Critical Role season 3, so I'm pleased to find Brennan is bringing something new to the table. The way he immediately sets the stakes is great, and having the party gathering at something other than a tavern is refreshing. Kind of getting FF6 vibes.

Hmm... perhaps a villain who offers, say, a contract to turn people into magical girls because that transformation is what allows an infinite source of gacha capsules... capsules which are then sold to the magical girls so they can combat, I don't know, witches of some kind, perhaps.

Is the Gacha Machine the main villain?
