Here, hear it from the man himself.

Whelp. My first run with The Regent went about as I would expect The Regent's first attempt at the tower would actually go: land on the planet, climb five floors, hit an elite, die.

Win with Silent in first run. Storm of Steel with Sword of Stone, tons of card draw, and Serpent Form. Each shiv was, like, 20 damage.

Might have gotten that first win way sooner if I hadn't kept trying to make Howl from Beyond work.

Phew. First win with Ironclad. Giant Rocks + Thrash is pretty fun!

Looks like I'm an uncle, now. Not sure I'm ready for the responsibility.

"If there is a woman oppressed by colonialism, we cannot achieve feminism goals."

Protesters in South Korea's capital, Seoul, rallied in solidarity with Palestinian and Iranian women on International Women’s Day, marching toward the US Embassy.

I suddenly realized that I like where I live. This is a foreign feeling to me, one which, it turns out, is not the same as "I mean, I don't actively despise this place."

It would probably also work better if the dumb decisions weren't quite so tropey.

My biggest critique of Color Out of Space (2019) is, there actually is a reason why characters do apparently dumb and baffling shit, but you kind of have to think about it; so, in the moment, it just feels dumb and baffling.

Watching Bob Ross -
Bob: "Alright, the canvas is wet and slick and ready to go."
Me: "Hold up. We ARE talking about painting... right?"

I'd say that the Entomancer is welcome to suck all the shit, but, seeing as it's full of bugs, I'm not sure it isn't already doing that.

Looks clean, man.

Yeah, he's been going gangbusters lately.

Great flick! I don't think I've seen a cosmic horror film that so successfully expresses the helplessness of the genre. To be sure, most of that stems from Colin Stetson's music, which is both bleak and beautiful. The script is a bit pulpy, but still good.

Yeah, ok, THERE'S the Nick Cage I'm here for.

06.03.2026 20:51 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

This slow burn is so good, though.

06.03.2026 20:46 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Ah yes. Purple. The spookiest of all the colors.

06.03.2026 20:19 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Cage is giving a remarkably subdued performance so far. There's still a lot of time for things to get crazy, though.

06.03.2026 20:11 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Alrighty. Time to watch Color Out of Space. Looking forward to seeing Nicholas Cage get his freak on.

"No, no, you don't understand. We can't return the money because we already spent it."

Slay the Spire 2's boss set pieces are really cool.

06.03.2026 17:05 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, I teach almost exclusively one-on-one and it's still a big oof. Wouldn't trade it for anything, though.

06.03.2026 17:05 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Later: "To shreds, you say?"

06.03.2026 17:00 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

It is, without question, the reason why teaching is the hardest job there is.

06.03.2026 17:00 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Look, given how things have been going in the world, I think I'd take my chances with the fae.

06.03.2026 16:53 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Ah, I see Slay the Spire 2 is keeping the escalation of "one of these enemies isn't too bad, but when there's two of them, they're a fucking ~problem~"

06.03.2026 07:14 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Oh dang. Slay the Spire 2 is good. Really good.

06.03.2026 04:18 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Current mood is: turning to horror media because it is less horrifying than real life.

Learned about the story, Florentine Nights, and I really wish that more #ttrpg bards were crazed virtuosi summoning hell itself with the power of their playing.
