I‘ve had various dogs do that to me over the years when I left for any period of time. It’s like they don’t want to show how much their world was rocked.Trust me he’ll get over himself, he missed you more then anything.

Oh the rolling! My first dog loved to roll in dog poop, no rail trails for her, she also hated baths. Many of my dogs, loved to roll in gross things, and you are right, it happens so quick. Two of my dogs would never give back a delectable find. Defiant girls, never the boys.
