I wanted to watch The Materialists in theatres, but I missed it. Didn't want to pay $20 for it on Prime. Come to find out (from a Tik Tok), it's on Hoopla. Which I have access to for FREE because of my library card. Now I'm watching it from the comfort of my home, eating pasta. Support libraries.

I was also asked in a Black History Month panel where I saw myself (and how I wanted to contextualize myself) along a literary timeline. We always think about the writers who come before us, but not always about our "literary descendants." A masterful question.

In an interview for Haven Spec, @leonp.bsky.social asked me about my name, what it means, what it means to me, my relationship with it. I felt so seen. It was unexpected and very lovely!

My coworkers want to set up a coffee station in our shared workspace, and I've gotten way too excited about it. I spent an hour the other day looking at syrups and milk frothers

It makes me even more worried about people using AI to "write books."

I see why some emerging writers want a traditionally published book so badly.

I will forever go on and on about how publishing isn't necessary to be "a real writer" or how the industry is awful, but I see it now. I get it.

This is less about lateness and more about clocks. I feel so randomly passionately about clocks. Please, clocks are so cool and you can get pretty ones!

This is niche but bring back clocks! None of my millennial (or Gen Z) friends have clocks in their homes. I don't want to check my phone or the stove for the time. Hang a clock! Is this why y'all are always late lmaoo??

I love the concept of an "author wrangler" at literary festivals/conferences.

As if the author might arrive at the green room, but then scurry off in search of food, or be lured away by a mischievous friend, and must be herded back so they can be mic'd and briefed.
