Film is Fabulous! have been involved in the recovery and deposit of several items of vintage television to the BFI. These items were found in a deceased former industry professional’s private collection.

Help Preserve Two Collections

The Film is Fabulous! team are currently in discussions with the families of two deceased former industry professionals about the acquisition of their collections, and the preservation of the rare films.

The 16mm/35mm films featured in this short series of videos were donated to Film is Fabulous! by a former BBC employee. The gentleman has asked to remain anonymous, and we will abide by his request.

BBC Television on 35mm Film

The Film is Fabulous! team have continued to open the corroded cans of film, and to examine the contents. The remaining reels of 35mm film are larger than those examined previously; this short video features a reel of film that measures 2,300ft.
