A productivity trick that works for me every time:

I was super tired this morning

Didn't wanna do anything

But I said "let's give it at least 10 minutes" and pushed through

Now I'm two hours in and much more energized!

Truly a great interview

Why a mentor?

Because they will help you believe in yourself... and make sure you are not crazy

Tony says the best way to get a mentor is to build a community of like-minded people around you

Then mentors will find you on their own

"Best ideas are the ones that make you forget about all the other ones"

So how do you take the leap to build it?

Tony says two things:

1. Believe in yourself
2. Get a mentor

"I try to run away from the idea"

he says to keep coming up with new ideas, give it time

If one idea keeps popping back into your head it's mostly likely the one

Put it off "until its like a black hole that sucks you in"

Everyone has a ton of ideas

but 99% of them are not great

so how do you pick the great one?

Tony says that great ideas chase you

Don't dive right into them, write them down, think about them first...

How do you come up with great ideas?

I watched 2-hour interview with the creator of the iPod, iPhone and Nest to find out
