13.02.2025 17:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Couldn't find audio samples for all the voices - so had to create a script to create sample audios with all male voices. Its done. And it only took me ~5 hours!
13.02.2025 17:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Back to the project. First attempt to create an audiobook: Use Google Cloud Text to Speech.
13.02.2025 17:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The whole point to being a programmer is to spend 20 hours to build a tool that does something that will save you 5$. And believing it was completely worth it.
13.02.2025 17:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In my research phase, I found services that cost ~200$ that can create the audiobook for you - but where is the fun in that?
13.02.2025 17:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Also, I love audiobooks! I read 70(!) books last year - thanks to audiobooks at 2x speed.
13.02.2025 17:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Why? I consume almost all my books as Audiobooks - so its very odd to me that my own book doesn't have an audiobook version. I have to correct that.
13.02.2025 17:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I have a new project: Convert my book(mindos.in/zettelkasten...) to Audiobook. Using AI!
13.02.2025 17:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If you are looking for real life examples, lot of people have published their notes online. You can find my entire note collection at notes.binnyva.com
14.01.2025 11:44 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How do you consume books? Audiobooks? At what speed? Visual reading? Something else entirely? Let me know!

If youβre like me, your "to-read" list is endlessly growing. I had almost given up on catching up. Then I discovered audiobooks at 2x speed. Now, I'm cutting a swathe through it!
My 2024 highlight: Read 70 books! Want to know which ones? Goodreads: www.goodreads.com/user/year_in...
The secret: Audiobooks at 2x speed. Fiction? I breeze through it. Non-fiction? Slower pace for note-taking, but still faster than visually reading.
I've been using Zettelkasten for about 4 years now, and I love it. Changed the way I learn things! Highly recommended.
About the workflow, I use Obsidian for my learning(and I publish those notes at notes.binnyva.com) and Logseq for my private notes. Both are maintained as separate vaults.
I've created a very concise tutorial for Zettelkasten. And its interactive - so hopefully you won't sleep off π. If interested, the article is available at binnyva.com/zettelkasten/
12.01.2025 14:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My book about personal knowledge management has been published!
It's called 'Zettelkasten and the Art of Knowledge Management', and it is aimed at life-long learners and knowledge workers.
