That this was a coworker of mine was absolutely disturbing and I feel dismissed and unwanted as both a co-worker and a human being, and I'm already doing my part in making sure I don't feel this way again and no one who is Hispanic should either. Defend your self-worth from those that don't care.

I hate false optimism as it tries to hide the truth behind a veneer of false optimism and hope but I also hate nihilism as it also accomplishes nothing. I prefer direct action above all else as the only means of solving these problems even as people refuse to solve them.

It was so bad, it grew into a sickening level of false optimism while trying to effectively whitewash the human rights and constitutional abuses that ICE has committed against people like me in the last year, and even begging them to try to see if from the viewpoint of me was fruitless.

So to put a long story short, I have this coworker who claims to be an immigrant from a foreign country (a Caribbean one, they have a famous bobsled team), and they were dismissive of the actions of ICE during the last year of their enforcement to the point of wonderful ignorance.
