On April 4 Ken heard someone behind him. As Ken turned, the man punched him hard in the eye. Ken flew off his chair onto the ground, bleeding profusely. The assailant fled. The hospital was able to rule out a concussion and broken bones, and Ken’s injuries are slowly healing. #protest #handsoff

Ken, aged 88, has held his #protest sign at the courthouse in Pittsboro NC, 3 days a week for a month. He estimates that during that time no more than 1% of the passing drivers have shouted ugly, obscene comments at him and that 30-35% have given a thumbs-up or shouted supporting comments. #handsoff
