It seems like it very much is part of St. Louis' playbook to leak a deal to try to push public pressure on a guy to waive his NTC. Both the Krug and Parayko leaks came from STL originally, it seems.

Tocchet on if anybody will sit tonight for trades:

"I mean, I could get a call at 3. I think it happened to Chief the other night. He said (it was) the same lineup, and then... so I'm not gonna be caught w/that one. It could happen. I don't know. As of now, that's our team."

05.03.2026 16:32 β€” πŸ‘ 10    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Travis Konecny is indeed out tonight with injury. Tocchet says he's an option for Pittsburgh, but they'll see how he feels.

Seeler is out tonight too, still has the D2D designation.

Vladar in net.

05.03.2026 16:24 β€” πŸ‘ 10    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

No, if they wanted, they could play Ginning.

05.03.2026 16:11 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Dan Vladar was first off the ice, so it looks like he starts tonight as the Flyers go for four straight wins for the first time this season.

Lines in morning skate:

Zegras - Dvorak - Tippett
Michkov - Cates - Brink
Barkey - Couturier - Grebenkin
Deslauriers - Grundstrom - Hathaway

Sanheim - Ristolainen
York - Drysdale
Andrae - Juulsen

Konecny is here, but not taking rushes.

05.03.2026 15:36 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 1

So all of Konecny, Ristolainen and Dvorak are on the ice after missing practice on Tuesday.

Nick Seeler is still missing.

Travis Konecny is on the ice for morning skate as well.

05.03.2026 15:25 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Rasmus Ristolainen is indeed on the ice for morning skate.

O'Connor: The Flyers are playing like a playoff bubble team again. Great. They still need to be sellers at the NHL trade deadline - PHLY Sports The Flyers have started winning again. That's great. But general manager Daniel Briere still needs to focus on selling at Friday's deadline.

The Flyers are on a 3-game winning streak, & look like they've put January behind them. That's great.

But it can't change Daniel Briere's approach to the deadline. The focus needs to remain on stockpiling assets -- via a Ristolainen trade, specifically:

to echo the classic hockey meme on this Sherwood extension

that's... per year?

04.03.2026 18:18 β€” πŸ‘ 17    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Not necessarily.

1. Briere is holding firm on a 1st ask & RHDs are dwindling.
2. Myers had an NTC which cut down on VAN's leverage.
3. Ristolainen is better/younger than Myers.
4. Briere has shown he can get creative (taking back a contract, adding lesser picks) to convince a team to give the 1st.

04.03.2026 18:08 β€” πŸ‘ 17    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Dallas was a potential landing spot for Ristolainen. Still others out there, but that removes one plausible destination for him.

I think A Praise Chorus is absolutely the best-written song on Bleed American, but I'll always be partial to the title track, which I think is basically the perfect version of that particular type of pop-rock song

"My thinking is, we have a young team, and there's certain guys that they really were struggling with the concept of switching -- when to switch, when not to."

03.03.2026 19:16 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 1

"It's a little bit more man-to-man. It's not straight man-on-man.

I think when you're a younger team, also... like in junior hockey, most teams play man-on-man. It's simpler. It's easier for the young guys."

03.03.2026 19:16 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Tocchet talked today about some of the tweaks the coaches made over the break to the Flyers' d-zone system.

"More aggressive. We're trying to make some guys have less decision-making. And if you can, I call it "squashing plays, you can have less decision-making."

03.03.2026 19:16 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Tocchet says Konecny and Seeler will likely be game-time decisions on Thursday. Dvorak and Ristolainen are both a little "banged up," but their absences today were more maintenance. Tomorrow is an off day.

03.03.2026 18:53 β€” πŸ‘ 12    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 1

Per Flyers PR, Ristolainen and Dvorak are having maintenance days today, that's why they missed practice.

Obviously Konecny and Seeler fall more into the "actual injuries" bucket.

03.03.2026 18:27 β€” πŸ‘ 14    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 1

Players not on the ice for practice today: Seeler, Ristolainen, Konecny, Dvorak. Everyone else is on the ice.

03.03.2026 17:34 β€” πŸ‘ 10    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Don't see TK, Seeler or Ristolainen on the ice today. It's a bit of a split practice so far with d-men on one ice surface and forwards/goalies on the other.

03.03.2026 17:30 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Flyers practice at 12:30 PM today. Big question is whether their two injured guys -- Travis Konecny and Nick Seeler -- will be on the ice. Konecny practiced yesterday, so presumably his injury isn't THAT serious, but we'll see. Seeler missed the final 24 minutes of regulation last night & the OT.

Flyers win it in the shootout, taking full advantage of Zegras and Michkov's prowess in the situation and Vladar coming through in a big way. 3-2 final score.

03.03.2026 03:25 β€” πŸ‘ 58    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 1

And it's shootout time. Pretty entertaining OT session, especially the second half. But we're going to the skills competition.

03.03.2026 03:20 β€” πŸ‘ 13    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 1

Michkov gets the second shift in OT, so he is indeed back in the primary OT rotation for Tocchet, at least for now.
