We need to stop reinventing the wheel we know how to build stacked, larger, family sized homes on a single lot. No need to get more creative, or overthink this. Just build what we always have. Theyβll sell, they are beloved, they need to be allowed again

The reason Iβll be proposing an amendment to remove the $550M corporate giveaway in the income tax bill is simple:
To avoid these cuts to K12 and other crucial services.
Washingtonβs working families canβt afford to hand half a billion dollars to businesses that already got a tax break via HR 1.

Under Mamdani, City to Probe Businesses Where Most Workers Take Zero Sick Days
Employers will be subject to an investigation by the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection if more than half their employees took zero paid time off in a given year.
New York City will now investigate businesses where more than 50% of workers take zero sick days.
Under Zohran Mamdani the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection will flag such businesses.
As of 2014, most workers in New York are legally entitled to time off.

Biggest thing dems could do for their current position imo is have true moral convictions. They love to wait till the poll tells them something is confirmed Okay and by that time itβs too late. You should try believing in something, anything, the first time - even at pt of risk
the Bonica-Grumbach thesis is doing an amazing job and is being recognized more and more

Well now, would you look at that?
A massive study of NEARLY 300,000 people in the United States found that receiving an updated 2024-2025 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine REDUCED peopleβs risk of SEVERE disease AND death in ALL age groups, REGARDLESS of immunity from prior infection or vaccination.

SB 6045, a bill to allow farmworker collective bargaining in WA state, will soon be voted on. This bill is critical for WA farmworkers like Windmill mushroom workers who've been fighting to get a contract since 2022.
If you live in WA tell your state Senator to support SB 6045.

A valentine from Public Health of Seattle and King County. A man shivers in bed while a smiling lady in a red mask shows off her bandage on her arm.
Text: Noses are red
Ice packs are blue
I'm vaxed so miss me with severe symptoms of flu.
A valentine from Public Health of Seattle and King County. Two lady scientists shrug lackadaisically. Text reads: My love for you can't be explained by science. Just like the new federal vaccine guidelines.
A valentine from Public Health of Seattle and King County. Protesters in Minneapolis wear thick clothes and hold signs of support for immigrant neighbors. Text reads: To the health departments in the Twin Cities:
Love unites us.
Our hearts are with you.
Oh my GOD King County Public Health is just wilding out for Valentines Day (and a lovely one).

Just a reminder as we're talking about surveillance cameras: Seattle's new real time crime center went live last May so we've had that for LESS THAN A YEAR. The ALPR/license plate reader expansion on all SPD vehicles? That was voted on less than 2 years ago, and then it took a while to implement.

We have SIX DAYS to get this out of the Washington State Senate. NEXT TUESDAY is the legislative deadline to get bills out their house of origin.
If it doesn't pass by then, it likely dies till 2027.
Since farmworkers were written out of labor laws in 1937, we have to win at the state level.

FDA wonβt review Moderna application for first mRNA-based flu vaccine
The decision, which shocked company officials, comes as the FDA says it will take a stricter approach to federal vaccine approvals.
So the feds ARE NOT considering an mRNA vaccine for the flu, which could save countless lives, but ARE backing research into whether horse dewormer can cure cancer, because the right views vaccines as elite and ivermectin as populist.
Cool.

Guys, dont immediately jump ship. Complain on Discords forums. Spam their emails. Make noise. We'll never tackle the overlying problem if we just keep jumping ship.
Discord is easy to bully out of doing shit. We've made them stop doing NFT shit. We can stop them taking ID's. :)

Just a quick update from the Twin Cities. (Please forgive the unsolicited message). THINGS ARE NOT BETTER IN MINNEAPOLIS. The media is mostly moving on, Trump is focused on other stuff, BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED ON THE GROUND. More than 2,000 DHS thugs continue to roam the streets, abducting people 24/7, assaulting legal observers with impunity, and routinely denying 1st, 4th, and 5th amendment rights. Drones and helicopters are overhead every day. Hundreds and hundreds of terrified families have not left their homes since mid-December ... relying on the community to bring them food and help with rent and other necessities. (Those people are NOT violent drug cartel sex offending murderers, as DHS would tell you. Most are legal residents or citizens.) If anything, things have just become more stressful and intractable (think trench warfare as a suitable metaphor): The resistance is better organized and numerous, but DHS has become more clever and better at disguise... and the county sheriff's office is increasingly supporting them . Do not let anyone tell you that Homans (the new person in charge of the occupation) is making anything better. Do not let anyone tell you that 700 ICE agents leaving the city has made much of a difference; the remaining force (again, ~2,000) is still larger than the entire city's police force (which is legally unable to do anything). Please call your congressional reps ... especially if there is any chance the administration might listen to them.
A desperate plea sent to me by a Minneapolis resident who's been on the front lines since the beginning of the ICE occupation:
