Le Chéile
Yesterday marked the fifth week of our Le Chéile initiative in Transition Year helping the elderly. Participants were very busy learning card games and making Christmas decorations that they will decorate in the coming weeks. Thank you to all who volunteered and attended.

Our judges will have a tough job later today selecting our Rainbow Bake Off winners! All of these entries look delicious 😋

Our Transition Year students enjoyed an overnight stay in beautiful Glendalough, Co. Wicklow! As part of their Gaisce award, they hiked 18 km through the misty mountains and today explored the stunning lakes. Fantastic effort by everyone!

Tomorrow, we will mark Stand Up Week with music and face painting in the GP Area from 8.15am.

Paired Reading is now under way. Transition Year volunteers read with first years 2-3 times per week at lunch time and / or after school in our beautiful library. If you are in first year and would like to join, please let Ms Jordan know at michellejordan@loretowexford.com

The library will reopen from Monday next. The pictures show a selection of the new books now in stock. Books can be borrowed before school and at lunchtime. Listen out for Mr. Murphy’s announcement which will have further details. We encourage all students to visit and enjoy reading.

Paul from Wexford Walks met with our Transition Year students today where he terrified them with some scary stories.

Elsie, Megan, Sara & Róisín attended the Comhairle na nÓg Annual Youth Conference at Wexford County Council. They learned about Wexford Comhairle’s work and shared their voices through a range of youth-led activities.

Congratulations to Louise Duggan and Anna Isdell who qualified for the Leinster Finals in golf in April for the 9-hole competition. The girls qualified after finishing first and second in the regional qualifiers in Courtown. Well done girls!

Yesterday we held our annual dress-up day for Children’s Health Ireland hospitals and raised €650 to help support sick children across Ireland. Huge thanks to everyone who donated and joined in—here are some of the standout costumes!
