Rpgmaker.net coming back online is very significant, as a whole generation of 2000s and 2010s indie games was contextless and nearly lost without it.

It's wonderful to see it back in action. Hopefully to stay!

Squall's whole arc in FF8 is him finally having experiences and starting to make decisions on what he does and doesn't like after coasting by with someone else's framework on how to live. And I strongly believe keeping Squall 'coasting' was the intention from Cid/Garden.

at the end of the day, squall's not seifer, but he's also not a stellar student, he's belligerent to literally everyone. Compliant, but belligerent. I really like that about him.

it's really easy to fall into giving squall a kind of...moderate, spoken and inner voice, because at the end of the day he's a smart guy who speaks well when needed, but he's shown frequently cutting off his words ('cause, gonna, etc)
