I don't know who needs to hear this, but all four seasons of Beakman's World are on Tubi.

One of the best science shows for kids ever produced and one that definitely should be mentioned alongside Mr. Wizard, 3-2-1 Contact, and Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Even proven Saban properties like "X-Men" and "Marvel Superheroes" cartoon packages have been laggards as Monday-Friday syndie strips this season, following several successful years on Fox Kids' Saturday morning slate.

Other Saban titles airing in syndication this season are the animated series "Dragon Ball Z" and the live-action "All-New Captain Kangaroo." Those and other Saban library titles will air later this year on the Fox Family Channel's daytime sked; Saban's new productions will continue to bow first on the Fox Kids broadcast schedule.

Did you know? Fox Family Channel was rumored to air more shows before launch that never made it to air, specifically shows Saban was airing in syndication at the time- including X-Men and Dragon Ball Z, of all shows.

I've got the Chocola 2002 print set. Nearly got Koge Donbo's autograph on it as well, but it didn't line up timing-wise. Did get a short interview with her for ToonZone, though that was lost from their archives it seems.

There were complaints? I just thought the money men were upset they didn't instantly become another Spike and decided to cut bait.
I was rather floored that they were getting away with showing harsh stuff like NEW YORK RIPPER on basic cable.

And that network had a fine mission to boot.

Until they had to tone down a lot because *someone* complained.

But I tell you, Robert Rodriguez had a vision for that network, and it was an oasis for a good while.

At first it was timed onscreen trivia like Pop-Up Video, but the owners of THE HARDER THEY COME objected to that so they switched to in/out commercial break screens, first with teaser Qs & As, then just random facts.
They squeezed me in terms of output vs pay, but I believed in the mission.

That's messed up. Still, a pretty nice gig.

I had a gig at El Rey Network writing director dossiers for Rodriguez's interview show and trivia bumpers for their movie nights. Then Univision slashed their budget and they ghosted me w/o notice.
But the idea of a white dude getting screwed by a Hispanic TV behemoth made me laugh so I didn't mind.

All I know is that whenever I watched the channel, I could look at it and say, "Yeah, a real fan made this channel, if not for other likeminded people, then definitely for himself, and he's having a ball with it."

The fact I could watch The Six Chambers of Shaolin on TV uncut in the 2010s was wild.

Unrelated, but Comcast has also been in discussions in the UK with ITV about acquiring the networks part of that company, but not the studios.

Might seem odd given their spinning-off of cable nets in America, but ITV is a MAJOR station in the UK, on-par with NBC in the US.

I canceled my Disney/ESPN+/Hulu subscription back during the Kimmel debacle with the intention to resume for basketball season. Yesterday I listened to the local radio stream instead. I don't think I'm alone.
