This is what is says on the tin, but also: paying artists, creatives, producers & crew fairly & on time would deflate the false profit margins of *every* creative industry. Paying workers fairly wd "kill" industry *as an endless profit machine*. Not defending AI, saying this problem is baked in.

✨That's all for our first day of play with it✨

When you press submit, it just submits!! There's no chance to pull off a PDF or to check through your answers - it's just gone! TERRIFYING.

I kept getting an error box that just said "null". I don't know what that was related to, but it felt slightly comforting because a random "null" was such a fixture of Grantium I'm hoping it's just one for the nostalgia fans.

In the budget personal access costs doesn't show up automatically anymore, so make sure you fill that in like any other budget line - they suggest you should add it as "a line" so maybe keep it to just one (?!)

You have to enter an end date as well as a start date to every entry on the timeline now - so put the same start and end date if it's just one day.

You now need to know the local authority that work is taking place in, rather than it auto-populating.

You can no longer tick that work is happening in one or more place and there's work happening nowhere specifically - you used to be able to tick both if you were doing an event and some non-location-specific research, but now you can't

Some of the character counts are lower - eg 300 instead of 800 for "Information used on who will experience your project" and 100 instead of 500 for "Who are you working with"

You need your example to be a weblink - doesn't seem to be optional, you have to enter a weblink.

After a while of inactivity it times out, not sure how long yet - but because there's no save function if you're halfway through a page it's just lost. More important than ever to do it offline first!!

It won't copy and paste something that is over word count. Like it just will leave the whole box blank rather than only copying the bit that will fit. So if you have a blank box after pasting, it's probably over word count. Reduce and try again.

There's no save button...we *think* clicking Next acts like save. However you can't click Next unless everything on the page is complete! This is a big deal on some of the pages where there's potentially lots of detail such as "Who are you working with"

You have to complete each section in order. No clicking around to different areas of the application and coming back to other bits later. Start at the beginning and relentlessly click "Next" when finished to get to different sections.

We continue to make alternative solutions available to users, while our usual system is unavailable. As part of this, we are pausing new applications to National Lottery Project Grants. (1/3)

An update before this evening:

We’ve now emailed all DYCP applicants directly with their funding decisions; and we have confirmed a new deadline of 3pm Monday 4 August for Creative Foundations Fund and Libraries Development Framework funds.

We have emailed applicants awaiting their decision for Developing Your Creative Practice to confirm we plan to let them know decisions early next week.

Grantium is still not available for users. We’re continuing our work to resolve this issue over the weekend. We’re very sorry for the frustration that this has caused people.

Oh this is awful!

It looks like it’s been working sporadically so probably hasn’t sent them all out yet. Fingers crossed for you!
