Go support this movie if you haven't already. It is the coolest fucking thing ever getting to see my friend @elsielovelock.bsky.social give one of her unbelievable performances on the big screen, and I'm ABSOLUTELY seeing this again before it's out of theaters.

Another highlight was this reversed Guinevere section. While reversing the music was pitched in the rough cut, I thought it'd be funny if the Guinevere motif still played "normally" backwards. This was my way of riffing off the whole "temp VO" gag with some extra weirdness. (3/3)

Part of the joke for me was releasing "Glitch Karts (Score To Picture Version)" as a separate track on the album. I've never had to write a score, then thrash it around with jarring cuts for comedic effect, but it was fun. I just tried to make myself laugh in the edit. lol (2/3)

Fun fact, this section of the Glitch Karts merch video was originally stock music, but I thought it'd be much funnier to write an entirely separate jazz piece JUST for this edit. It's a complete throwaway track, made to hard cut in and out of, and I think that's hilarious. (1/3)

Yeah, you'll see when it's out. Gotta leave some surprises and other theatrics for the actual release. Mr. Puzzles would want nothing less. 📺

So technically there's 9 tracks on the album, but I wouldn't consider them 9 different songs, if that makes sense. There's alternates and other variants sprinkled throughout the lineup. It's a fairly small scale release, but it should still be fun. It puts all the Mr. Puzzles material in one place.

Tbh the whole reason I announced the Mr. Puzzles album when I did was to force people to know about it, therefore I have to get it done. lol So if you'd like to force MORE people to know about it, uh... I mean, I'm not gonna work any faster, but I'll appreciate the enthusiasm! 📺

Dude yeah, Tunnel of Puzzles was the piece I was easily most excited about getting to write. Everything they'd built up with the character left me itching to take that cheery theme and twist it into this dark and sinister anthem. 📺🤘

That said, the unintended side benefit of waiting till after the Mr. Puzzles story has come to a close is that now I get to do something special with this album release. 📺

That's the plan, yeah. The Mr. Puzzles album likely won't release before the year's over anymore, but soon enough. 😅 I will clarify the only reason this music wasn't released sooner is that it wasn't baked into our release schedule at the time, so some stuff never made it out the door. That's all.

Hey, can we talk about how the first piece I ever wrote for the SMG4 channel is also the end credits music they used, meaning it's also the final music track that'll ever be heard on the show? I had nothing to do with that, but MAN did they pull a move on me with that choice. 😭

It's been fun showcasing our little Yuuki running gag, but this thread is actually just one big excuse to gush over AJ's work. Have you HEARD the music this man's been writing over the years? Dude inspires the heck out of me every day, and he's an amazing friend to boot. (13/16)

As far as I know, not even Glitch staff know the full Yuuki story at the time of this post. I know AJ at least showed @liamvickers.bsky.social there's a cat sample in Murder Drones (which I'm told he loves btw lol), but we've never really mentioned this wider context until now. (12/16)

So when I was asked to compose the music for Glitch Karts, and Murder Drones was one of the main shows featured, of course I had to bring this whole thing full circle. Yuuki's my cat after all, so I made SURE he'd make it into the mashup AND the core game! (10/16)

You think I'm even close to running out of Murder Drones clips? Dude, I'm not messing around. Go revisit this show or it's soundtrack with these samples in mind. Legitimately, you almost can't go a minute without hearing my cat Yuuki in some form. It's genuinely absurd. (9/16)

With Murder Drones, AJ went kinda hog wild with the Yuuki samples. It ended up being one of the core pillars of this show's sound. You can spot Yuuki samples literally EVERYWHERE throughout the soundtrack. I'm not exaggerating. It's super frequent, yet always purposeful. (8/16)

I ended up sending AJ new samples for most new projects. I sent this file I named "Meows of Mild Anguish" with Murder Drones in mind. I was hugging Yuuki for a little too long, and he wanted down, so he let out the cutest meows. I was WHEEZING after this. 😂 Sweet baby. (7/16)

This one's a bit more subdued, but in Meta Runner Season 3, AJ wrote a new theme for Evelyn with the progression of her character, which again features my cat Yuuki, this time as this ambient synth layer. You'll hear this play in most of her scenes throughout the season. (6/16)

So anyway, Glitch's next show was Sunset Paradise, which featured a LITERAL CAT THEMED CHARACTER NAMED WHISK! The Yuuki gag was set in stone. How could it not be? The show LITERALLY called for it unknowingly. Do I even need to tell you where the samples are in this one? 😂 (5/16)

AJ then took that audio and incorporated it into his score. A big fight breaks out between Evelyn and Tari during this sequence, so AJ thought it'd be fun to attach the Yuuki sample to Evelyn's character as a subtle thematic element. Just a tiny splash of ear candy. (3/16)
