Exactly, nobody wants to watch something that just looks like it's checking out boxes... The "anti-woke" crowd is so loud exactly because a lot of these shows and games come across as performative, instead of truly trying to tell a legitimate story. We NEED these stories being told thoughtfully

I dont want to clog Jessies mentions with this, but furthermore nobody likes being preached to is what Im trying to say; the way they write (most of) TV today is for the mind of someone on their phone while they watch it, the way complex themes are approached is barebones and often devoid of a bite

but there used to be 22+ episodes in a show that not every episode was very serious, for some reason the conservative mind can’t comprehend nuance and doesn’t see those things the old shows used to do as woke bc they were not as direct? About it as they are today 🫩 media literacy etc
