There are so many forces in our lives that require us to claim that we are the best; world leaders. It’s so refreshing to hear someone talk about “middle powers” and to have the confidence to self identify as that while knowing that it does not diminish the importance of their voice and opinion.

It's not often that I find similarities between working in #academia and working as a #spy for the security services, but this line about reimbursement of travel expenses in John le Carré's 2019 novel sounds very familiar.

There's a #coffee outlet in Spark in #York called #vi. They make nice coffee and they make me think of my favourite #unix text editor.
