Last Friday, I said goodbye to my amazing cat Alice, who recently developed an aggressive form of cancer. She took over many virtual work meetings during Covid lockdowns. She opened my heart and made me a better person. She was loved by family and friends. Her memory is a blessing and forever so.

FWIW, I don't believe new program spending on economically beneficial things like child care and innovation were wrong. The orthodoxy around required balancing budgets is outdated. But execution of agenda and alertness to trends was poor. There was no coherent forward-looking economic vision too.
