GCSEs: Government ‘should rethink soul-destroying resits’ The policy of compulsory resits for GCSE students not getting a standard pass in English and maths has been challenged by a new report

Last year only 18% of post-16 students taking GSCE maths passed. The majority would have been resitting after failing the summer exam.
