It appears that Aibe (艾比仿生机器人) is still in business despite their museums where they exhibited different androids playing out different scenes closing down after the pandemic.

Despite actually having build a decent robotic head, like many Chinese developers the developer of this Russian project relies on too much image generation making the original development look lesser.
(Oh, and it's unfortunately intertwined with promoting some сryptо garbage).

With no access to the markets, little economic incentive inside Russia, and decent engineering preferring to leave Russia, the "national anthropomorphic platform" sounds more like a scam than anything.

Promobot, when offering their robots in e.g. UAE even has to hide their Russian origin, as there's a legit fear that with their main financial input coming from the state and them being used for propaganda they might be toxic for potential clients or investors.
11.11.2025 18:45 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The "anthropomorphic robot" is supposed to mean "android" in Russian official speech, but we're seeing here is a humanoid robot first and foremost.
The face for both full height and torso robots, developed by Promobot is the downgrade from their "bootleg Ameca" look of "Ardi".
The presentation of the "first embodied anthropomorphic robot" in Moscow as part of the suddenly out of nowhere arisen and hyped "national anthropomorphic robot platform" did not go necessarily quite good.

It's visibly behind what is achieved by larger humanoid robot companies, but for a small android robotics company it's impressive considering that recently only HRP-4C was the only walking android robot

One of the best arguments for humanoid robotics is accessibility, and I agree with that. The unfortunate thing that developers won't get money if they advertised remote helping via the robot and/or banked on accessibility alone, hence they have to do some questionable marketing
