Helping arrange the funeral of a loved one just feels...abnormally fast. Like my grandpa just died yesterday and now we have to meet people and funeral parlors to ensure he'll be buried within the week or less. I suppose since he was sick and in and out of the hospital the family mourned him alive

We only moved to our place to live with them when I was 6. They weren't bad grandparents. They were okay but we weren't close either. But knowing they were barely a parent to my dad, who then became a shitty person, rlly changed my view of them

For context, when my dad was still young, my grandpa sent him to our grand aunt's place to work. He didn't live there for free. He did all sorts of housework to eat and get money for his studies. My grandparents basically left him to fend on his own so he was never close to them.
