I cannot stress enough how much these kinds of notes mean to teachers.

Or anyone, really. If someone has made a positive impact on your life, reach out and let them know. It'll make their week.

Opinion | This Is Just Who Trump Is

"For years, a cottage industry of political observers has contorted itself to obscure and occlude the obvious. That regardless of what others see in him, Trump’s entire political career...cannot be understood outside the context of his bitter, deep-seated racism." (gift link)

Audre Lorde, in a 1989 commencement address, said, "Remember this, despair is a tool of your enemies. That rumor, 'You can’t fight City Hall,' is circulated by City Hall. Facing the realities of our lives gives us the motivation for action, it gives us the power to change. You are not powerless."

This piece captures the way @heymrsbond.com brings her heart, mind, and soul to every decision she makes in her teaching.

I'm honored to call her colleague and friend, and I'm jealous that @leevgaines.bsky.social got to go spend time in her classroom :)

"Being respectful of our history" means not lying about it.

There are not, actually, "a lot of questions" about this grisly massacre

You should put your "confidence and trust" in the nonpartisan scholars who have studied this extensively instead of a right-wing Fox & Friends propagandist

It was Dostoevsky and Dickens who taught me that the things that tormented me most were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, or who ever had been alive. Only if we face these open wounds in ourselves can we understand them in other people.”
