What makes the Disney sequel trilogy so unsatisfying is that each episode isn't just disconnected, they actively work to undermine each other.

My Star Wars hot take is that the much maligned prequels are better than any of the modern star wars.
Because, even while acknowledging the incredible clumsiness of many parts of it, at least it tells a coherent narrative.
