Avalore Fakemon Page

The first batch of Avalore Fakemon were based on the core classes of DnD. The second batch were inspired by characters from Arthurian Legend.

The final batch is going to focus on fae and fairy tale creatures. Here's a short list we've compiled. Do you have any other suggestions?

Happy to announce that the second batch of Avalore fakemon has been fully released! Each one draws inspiration from at least one character in Arthurian legend. Below you'll find each fakemon accompanied by:

- Their names
- The characters that inspired them
- Artist QR codes

While exploring Avalore, you will come across a small tournament called the Round Table Competition. Those who complete all four rounds with an Eevee holding the Armor Plate will have the chance to evolve their companion into a Sirsteleon.

Sirsteleon is a a new steel-type eeveelution native to the Avalore region. It is based on Sir Gareth and Cavall (King Arthur's hound).

#048 - Maurutan
Artist 🎨: BastionPhoenix

While closely related to Oranguru, Maurutan is actually a separate species that draws inspiration from the wizard Merlin in Arthurian legend. Its name also draws inspiration from Maurice, an Orangutan in the Planet of Apes films who plays an advisory role.

This evolution line is inspired by Sir Galahad the Pure. Siraphin represents the Ship of Solomon and the Holy Grail, both of which were "vessels".

This fakemon is inspired by the knight Sir Bors whose story included the theme of martyrdom. It is also influenced by swallows as sacrificial symbols and their use as a popular joke in Monty Python. 🐦🥥

- It was called a questing beast because it supposedly resembled the sound of hunting dogs ("questing")
- It was said to poison water by drinking it, hence the typing
- Its shifting of its rear and hind in its evolution represents the Saracen Palamedes converting to Christianity

This evolution line is inspired by Sir Palamedes, whose story is tied with his hunt for the Questing Beast (said to have the front of a serpent but the hind of a feline)

Enforgsir is based on Sir Lamorak, Arthur’s hot-blooded knight who once defeated 30 foes in one clash (hence the "XXX" numerals on its back.) Its furnace core and rage-fueled smoke reflect his fiery nature. #fakemon #avalore

Violansir is the pseudo-legendary of Avalore and are inspired by Sir Lancelot:
- Unmatched at jousting
- Went undercover as Black Knight (darker colors)
- Raised underwater by Lady of the Lake (water-typing)

The middle-stage of Avalore's pseudolegendary. It gains the secondary steel-type and starts to resemble a traditional knight a little bit more.

Another knight-inspired fakemon which will serve as the pseudo-legendary of Avalore! This first stage is inspired by Nepidae (needle bug or "water scorpion").

Sirgalent is inspired by Sir Galehaut!

Sir Galehaut, a towering half-giant and noble prince, is best known for his deep bond with Sir Lancelot: an alliance so strong he once surrendered a kingdom for him.

That’s right, the first piece of music has been made for the region of Avalore. Here’s the song you might hear during a gym leader battle!

Gardezere is based off of Lady Guinevere
- Guinevere was known to be a master at chess (five-point crown, "'gardez" = 'check' but for the queen)
- Interpreted as either traitorous (adultery = morally bad) or misunderstood (courtly love instead of dalliance)

Female Avalorian Kirlia who infatuate foes 10 times will evolve into the new fakemon, Gardezere. She skillfully coordinates her followers into battle formations, either through royalty or perhaps some darker means.

In Avalore, the kind of Kirlia you get will depend on whether you evolve a male or female ralts. Female kirlia will gather a small entourage to obey her, while the males seek multiple strong rivals to spar against daily.

While the original Ralts line focused a lot on empathy, Avalorian Ralts will study and connect with others only to further its own goals. This is reflected in its own dark-type.

Maybe its evolutions will reveal what those goals are.

Sirjestion is based off of SIR DAGONET, King Arthurt's jester-turned-knight
- Damaged his own shield to appear like a fighter
- Went on a rampage to rescue his wife
- Proceeded to bankrupt the Royal House when he was put in charge of it

Dissirna is based off of Sir Dinadan
- Based of orchid mantis, which appears as a flower (Dinadan dressed as a maiden)
- Disguises self as the Gardevoir or Gothitelle-line to throw opponent's off guard
