I strongly suggest you read about the historical revisions and redactions of Christian Testament. You have approached this subject from a doctrinal and devotional POV, but not from a critical or historical one. I went to a Jesuit school for undergrad, and discussed it w/many seminarians.

The Christian Testament is not a history of corroborated events, it’s a sales pitch written and redacted by humans selling the church to Roman audiences for conversion. Treating it as a neutral record is an epistemological nightmare.
