Paphiopedilum King Arthur 'Burgoyne' this a very old cultivar of the hybrid dating back ro around 1915, if I remember correctly. I personally still think this cross holds up, still a vigorous easy hybrid to grow. #orchids #orchidaceae #greenhouse #nature #hybrid #garden #gardening #growing

Arctotherium and Cougar

Facing the audience directly, a massive green dragon lays atop a hoard of glittering gold with forelimbs crossed and chin resting over them. A skeletal figure in black hooded robe stands on a smaller mound of treasure before the great dragon holding up a vial of blood. A trickle of red dribbles from the dragon’s mouth. The pattern of smaller scales on its long snout is echoed in larger hexagons atop the cone of its head. Eyes curve in yellow slits under spiked brows. Antennae like projections sweep off the top and side of its head. Above, wings unfold nearly touching the cave top, which glistens in dotted mineral patterns of red, yellow, and green.

A look across the big pond in the Waterlilly House at RBG Kew in London. In the immediate foreground some kind of amazonian morning glory flower growing on vines along the guardrail, then the cross section of the pond itself filled with varying species of tropical waterlilly, many of which are in flower, and including several giant amazonian waterlillies. On the far side a curtain of hanging vegetation stretches up to the ornate iron framework and glass of the roof.

Sick of winter already and technically it hasnt even started yet.
