Spaghnum moss has saved my #bonsai once again! After 2 weeks, my juniper has developed new growth and no new galls on the roots. Now it's potted in a much more coarse medium

I think they're weirdly colorful bits of "tree gall". Probably caused by insufficient drainage

Gonna be a while until this maple looks pretty, but I love what the roots are doing! Need to find a prettier rock for it to clutch in its gnarled fist...
