Katyal: "I was able to go to court - the son of immigrants-- & say on behalf of small businesses, 'Hey, this president is acting illegally.' I was able to present my case, have them ask really hard questions, & at the end of it they voted & we won. That is something extraordinary about this country"

Neal Katyal son of immigrants went to SCOTUS won & overturned tariffs, Alysa Liu, daughter of an immigrant, went Olympics & won gold. Winners representing a fraction of the myriad contributions to American society made every damn day by immigrants. Diversity is our strength USA.

Opinion | This strategic blunder could swing the Supreme Court tariffs case For Trumpโ€™s challengers, a conservative lawyerโ€™s arguments might have the best chance of success.

This aged well.

This case has always been about the presidency, not any one president. It has always been about separation of powers, and not the politics of the moment.ย I'mย gratified to see our Supreme Court, which has been the bedrock of our government for 250 years, protect our most fundamental values.

Finally,ย Iย lack the words to properly thank my brilliant Milbank team, especiallyย Colleenย Rohย Sinzdakย andย Samiย Ilagan, who worked with me day and night for many months to craft the winning argument.

I'mย alsoย grateful to the five small business owners who stood up against these unjust, unconstitutional taxes. By taking a stand, they have delivered crucial relief to tens of thousands of businesses and millions of consumers across the country.

Iโ€™mย grateful for the leadership of the Liberty Justice Center, andย in particular forย the brilliant advocacy by its chair,ย Saraย Albrecht, who led the fight when othersย wouldnโ€™tย and was dauntless in its defense of our constitutionalย order.

I am utterly baffled by the highlighted part, which isn't even a quote from the Supreme Court's order. What are they doing?!

This is quite incredible. The US Justice Dept, under Trump, is defending its birthright citizenship Order by arguing that immigrant children covered by the Order cannot be citizens because... the children of Native Americans aren't US citizens.
