12. James Harden - was looking like he might make it 2 years in a row as a 2nd round steal. Now he's just a 1st round totally fine play. I'd go as early as 7-8 on Harden if I had to since he does the assist thing but he also gets boards, d-stats, and other non-guardy stuff

11. Trae Young - one of the few names that didn't move much this draft season. Constantly drafted way early by folks who love the guard-heavy build. But I don't! Trae forces you into a very specific shape early, and I'd rather let someone else chase there

10. Devin Booker - a new addition in the 1st round, and Book is about to post some nuts-level usage. He's probably more of a top-15 per game guy, but he's going to have to carry his team and his game is pretty well-rounded (minus d-stats). I like him at the end of the 1st

9. Anthony Edwards - so, I get it. Ant has almost no shot to be a 1st rounder by averages, but man there's something so appealing in the modern age with a guy who plays 90% of his games. I'm perfectly happy taking him here and chasing upside later

8. Karl-Anthony Towns - I can't quite figure how he moved up 2 slots. KAT was a 3rd rounder most of last year after a MONDO start, and there are rumblings of more Mitchell Robinson twin-big stuff. I'd prefer to take KAT near the turn or early 2nd round if I had my druthers

7. Anthony Davis - I need to give Kingy a ton of credit for the goofball 4-punt on AD's shoulders, but I'm not as risky here and I'm likely trying to avoid drafting AD if I can. His per-game numbers will beat almost everyone else left but that games played line... man

6. Cade Cunningham - I agree with the fellow analysts (Josh and Stock have mentioned it on my show) that think assists are being TOO highly pursued, and for that reason I'm not as high on Cade as others. I'd rather take a more well-rounded dude here if I can. Cade late 1st.

5. Luka Doncic - the final name in the upper tier in my eyes. I'm comfortable taking Luka at 4 in roto, and you could even make a case for 2 or 3 in h2h, but either way he's ready for a svelte year with a LOT of team build fantasy options, and I love options

4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander -

Could there be a title hangover? Maybe. But his all-around roto game is definitely my #2 pick. Probably falls to #3 behind Wemby in h2h but I could make a case for #2 there as well since he gives so many pathways forward

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo - Certainly would be my first pick once we're out of the "don't need to punt stuff" guys, but 3 is a bit too high for me. He's probably my 5th choice

That said, he might be #2 in a punt-FT build this year, so weigh it out!

2. Victor Wembanyama - moved up from #3 on the latest board and it makes sense. Doesn't force you into a particular punt and has infinite potential. A clear choice at either 2 or 3 for me.
