I have probably 2 weeks stocked. The irony is that I only do that because I have some deep, weird issues about empty cupboards, because I raised 2 kids while going to college and working, and got most of our food with SNAP benefits.

The depth of the shame of a country this wealthy and abundant allowing its people to go hungry is impossible to measure. The fact that a handful of people could fix this by paying their fair share of taxes while still remaining obscenely wealthy makes it even worse.

I'm really glad to see all the folks stepping up to try to resource the loss of SNAP but also billionaires could just pay taxes.

Two things can be true: I can know that that "Star Trek is for Republican men" article is bait, and I can also know that the author of it should be thrown into a volcano.

I used this site when I was teaching prep courses for high school English teachers!

Reading these articles helped them understand that knowledge of grammar and syntax are not intuitive for many students and to teach grammar explicitly, withholding value judgements of students' home dialects.

This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.

Say it loud: policies designed to make the rich richer are being funded on the backs of hungry children, and impacts will be long-lasting for many people.
