Okay all you scantily clad Halloween costumers, this is how it’s done in New Orleans. You basically gotta earn a degree in crafting and sewing while living here. Otherwise everyone assumes you’re in town from Atlanta 😝

Looks like it was the exterior entrance to the chapel before they added the current nave. It’s fun to see it inside the building now.

It looks to me like the apse was once a standalone chapel and the arch was its external entrance. And that at some point they grew the chapel by simply building a nave to the west of that entrance. Anyway, it’s really beautiful!

If this archway is what separates the nave from the apse, it’d be called a triumphal arch in French churches. Is that how it is referred to in the UK? Also, this is like no triumphal arch I have encountered in France.

New meaning for their acronym
