Early childhood providers - overwhelmingly women of color - are the backbone of this system. Yet too many are paid poverty wages & forced to work 2nd and 3rd jobs.
We have to stop paying women less to do more.

In honor of Black History Month, it was a privilege to recognize Joseph Baptiste with a citation for his outstanding service. For over two years at St. Nicks Alliance, Joseph has focused on bringing people together, supporting residents, and building stronger neighborhood connections.

During my time as Chair of the Council’s Tech Cmte, I pushed for stronger oversight of how tech contracts are awarded and monitored.

Last week I introduced a new bill for greater transparency surrounding ECE payments! This bill will require monthly reports on payments to childcare providers, pushing for better efficiency and accountability. I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues to pass this important legislation!
