A walk into town to the old post office is a good way to break up the studio day, although today was a lot of writing and editing in library

Buckwheat pancakes and bacon. Finished Tamarind notes draft. Started net project. Stitched. Painted. Dinner outdoors, since it’s 80 degrees.

First full day @MacDowell1907. Set up studio, painted two boxes, got busy with nets—that’s all I’m saying—and did some writing. Sunny, warm.

Arrived MacDowell to a studio new to me—Putnam. Smiling—it’s my guy’s middle name. No internet, spotty cell coverage. Mack’s first birthday.

Day spent packing, organizing and preparing as much as one can for the studio and home move to MacDowell for a month. Excited to get to work

Celebrated A. and little M. tonight with early party as I’ll be at MacDowell on their actual days 3 and 9. Warm and joyful. I’m a lucky girl

Up at 4 am for yoga, packing, organizing, readying house. Drive to Albuquerque, fly through Houston to Boston to Ipswich. Long day of travel

Yesterday’s “tweet”—I still refer to it that way—got lost in ether of elevation and non-existent WiFi and sad cell reception so sending now.

Yoga, walk around town, picnic lunch at home, a good hike on the Southern Boundary trail. Lambert’s Bar for early dinner and Raising Arizona

Wrapped up Tamarind, CP joins, gallery tour, drove to Carnuel, NM for Raven Chacon’s Tiguex on way to Taos. Orlando’s dinner. Now Coffman’s!

Tamarind gallery empty so three series—fifteen prints—went up on the walls for edition discussion. Then hike in Placitas with Valpuri et al.

Fourth “Stacks” image begun! Cropping for “Shapes” happens, and all four are looking good. Chine collé for “Traces” helps me see the finish.

Today, more images came off the press. We worked on colors for third of the stacked boxes (yellow, orange, and pink), plus cropping for all.

After fun lunch with curator Marissa, I had an appointment to see Anni and Josef Albers’ prints at the UNM Museum. Stunning works, up close.

Back in the printshop to make progress. Tiny box icons cut from corresponding colors, with tests for Sunscreen and Hummus. Goldenrod shapes.

A sunny Sunday in Albuquerque. Highlight was FaceTiming with Carmas post naps. Did yoga, walked to co-op for groceries. Drew some. Stitched.

Santa Fe—met Marci at Farmers’ Market, saw amazing show at Site and had conversations with informed docent, Pasqual’s lunch, Spirit shopping

Today I worked, and I worried about our country and people. We printed the “Eyeshadow” stone, made first pass at “Cupcake,” and I drew more.

Did yoga with the sunrise. To work in the printshop by 8 am. We agree not to talk about the state of America. Making culture, making beauty.

Day #3 at Tamarind. A third stone, “Eyeshadow.” Lunch at Vego’s. Transferred box crops via projection to goldenrod for plates. Three-to-ones

Day #2. I worked on another stone, this time tracing the unfolded vanilla box until the stone was almost black. Looked at cropping sections.

I started drawing on a stone after meeting with Diana and curator Marisa, Andrew and Valpuri. Made an acetate. Tested color on four overlays

Tomorrow we get to work in the studio. Today, pickleball and bánh mi with former master printmaker Bill L. and his wife Vera, plus art tour.

Between monsoons, I walked to the local co-op to buy lettuce and chocolate. Did familiar yoga with a new mat. Read, researched, and emailed.

Twin dawn walkers in Chelsea, each hoodied, each wearing a left arm sling. Triplets on plane, last row, all heads on trays. Seeing patterns.

Dark world. Got to doctor’s appointment made two years ago! Unpacked, re-packed clothes and ideas in two bags for ABQ. A special home dinner

Prepared to leave California but not before a “Claire’s Too” breakfast burrito and a walk, on this perfect day. Home tonight for turnaround.

Solana Beach morning yoga, walk. Shopped and cooked for Jimmy’s 32nd birthday—shrimp and corn chowder, kale salad, Praeger’s bread, cookies.

Tested a new brewery with our professionals after a morning walk, meditation, family beach time with birria burritos and writing in between.

We held and played with Beckett while his parents surfed at Table Tops enjoying a warm beach day (“hot” for San Diegans) with a tent, chairs
