Do you still consider prompting an essential skill? Do you still do it? How do you do it?

Happy to jam today with Dr. Lisa Traboco @rheumarhyme.bsky.social on leveraging ChatGPT for clinical practice!
We discussed how AI can complement the work of our Nephrology colleagues and attempted a differential diagnosis and treatment plan for a case. @hellokidneymd.bsky.social

Some people have not recovered from past elections (right or wrong)... I also noticed pinoys tend to over-politicize everything.
In theory, we can have different political beliefs and still be professionals and friends. Or can we really...?
Being apolitical is also hard.

While it is prudent to issue a general statement for your side of the story, sometimes when the cyberbullying comments are simply not true, there is more wisdom in not engaging and not dignifying with a response. Disconnect. Disengage. #HealthXPH

T3. The best defense is to stay clean, and have a reliable set of loyal and clean friends.
Make people think twice of besmirching your good name...
Maybe keep a lower profile - public figures are more prone to public attack.
And think twice about being political about anything.
#healthxph
Sometimes I think percentages. Given a basket of apples, there's bound to be 1 bad apple. Toss it. Preserve the rest.
Same rules apply to attackers.
OTOH - sometimes attackers come in groups...

T3. Ego management is essential - as professionals, it can be tempting to try to "fight fire with gasoline" - but this is a losing proposition IMO.
Defend. Disengage. Wait them out. If they are truly suffering from something... they could implode anyway. But I never wish them that.

I have been at the receiving end of passive-aggression many times... it takes me months to recover. Sometimes years.
#healthxph
T3. If you are a victim of attack, defend yourself, but also look to disengage quickly. Getting dragged into a mudslinging match with someone is not productive.
Desiderata: Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. This is timeless advice.

T3. IMO defamation is not a "normal" behavior - any time I encounter someone like this, I usually suspect some mental health or personality disorder (e.g. narcissism, histrionics, borderline, sociopathy, etc.). Unfortunately IMO there is no negotiating with such people.

T3. My late father had advice I always took to heart: be nice to people on the way up, because you will see them on the way down too. Keeping on the good sides of people can shield you somewhat. eventually. Also keep records and receipts to defend yourself in case you are attacked.

T2. I saw this a lot during the pandemic. Academics and doctors calling each other out - making public statements against each other. I think it was partly the crisis environment, but also a reflection of (latent) personalities.
Despite this, not sure if it is a common thing though.

T1. I see defamation usually go hand-in-hand with politicking and passive-aggression. It's devastating to be at the receiving end of this and also mind-blowing to realize some people do this intentionally.

IMO if many of us went to socmed to "connect", for GenA and GenB, they may find their connection with AI instead. (Remember that teen who commited S due to a character AI?). This change in behavior is something worth watching unfold over the next decade.
#healthxph
It's possible GenA and GenB will have less eagerness with socmed than the GenX/Y/Z. Maybe because of AI? Only time will tell.
#healthxph
I have a feeling we've seen peak socmed in recent years - esp with the deterioration of X and FB. Only ads keeps those platforms afloat (and twisted).
Bsky hasn't exhibited that decline yet. And Threads and Mastodon haven't quite caught the same momentum.
#healthxph
T3. I post similar content across FB, Twitter, and LI - and get very different reactions from each platform depending on the topic. Some reason I feel less compelled to do that in Bsky. I'm looking for something different here. Not sure yet what I will find.
#healthxph
T3. I'm entering Bsky in my middle age... so my habits here will likely be different from when I joined FB, Twitter, even LI (even Multiply and Friendster once). I feel less pressured to build and chase a following, and I prefer quality here over quantity.
#healthxph
T2. I'm building my Bsky feed slowly. Good overlap with previous X following but I'm curating more now. I check out starter packs for leads on who to follow but I don't auto follow everyone on a pack. In a way I want to avoid recreating my X feed. Hope Bsky stays pristine.
#healthxph
T1. My recent Twitter feed was all about about the destruction of humanitarian aid. I'm deeply affected by both the journalism and healthcare fronts of this.
#healthxph
T1. I'm probably one foot out the door already on X/Twitter. I noticed only political posts and memes get engagement there. Politics quickly gets tiresome (for me) - so as more people I know switch (to Bsky), I will simply follow them out.
