It's like they've taken the best bits of fps and point-and-click, thrown them away, and mushed the remaining junk in a blender before vomiting it out as a video.

Just started series 3 of Dark, and whoever came up with the plot for this has got a severely impressive mind. I'm only now picking up on throwaway lines in series 1 that now make sense.
Though it does irk me how often characters just stare stupidly at each other!
Yooo! People, what are you even doing??? Go pick up Barry's books right now.
Yes, even the short stories.
They're really fuckin' good.

Thanks!
I've got a novel (The Magic Circle) and a couple of short stories set in the same universe.
Decades after nuclear war, magic returns. As artists and spies alike discover how to use this power, some will stop at nothing to have it all for themselves.
Me: Wow, haven't had a book sale in a while.
Also me: I really should do some promo work for my books, otherwise no one will know about them.
I wonder if there's a link there? π€

I remember as a kid seeing a teenage girl walking her dog in a park whilst she wore roller skates.
A little later, the dog was running and she held on to the lead for dear life. Not sure how she stopped as she raced out of view, but I knew she wasn't going to stop by her own volition.
I've seen fancy buildings in London being renovated and they cover it up with a painted facade.
He just doesn't care what it looks like, as long as he gets his own way. And what a metaphor for his presidency!
You're quite clearly not legitimate and have no connection with this matter.
So, no.
Go and scam someone else.
Watched "Dunkirk" tonight and feel the plot could be summed up as: "One very unlucky man tries to have a dump and keeps getting in sinking boats instead."
Some excellent bits in it, though.
My mum's Irish and she taught me how to make soda bread along these lines.
"Put in some flour."
"How much?"
"Enough. Then add in some sour milk."
"How much?"
"Until it looks right."
Needless to say, it was always delicious when she made it, but I just use a recipe I found elsewhere.

Summaries, they're called summaries, and they've been around forever. They're not the same as reading the book, no one with a brain thinks they're the same as reading the book, and rebranding them as 'Blinks' does not make it so.

I know Guy Fawkes is a uniquely British celebration, but you know what's based on it but weirder?
5 minutes drive from me is the village of Ottery St Mary, where on Nov 5th each year they have a competition to see who can run the furthest with a flaming barrel on their back.
Yep, that's the one.

Great post, BTW.
