Counting NDFF records – Ecodiv.earth This post demonstrates how NDFF biodiversity observations can be processed with open-source GIS tools like QGIS and gdal to create species-richness heatmaps.

Also a weighted variant for those who want to account for spatial precision.
The NDFF data has been freely accessible since 2025, so it is a good time to start playing with it πŸ—ΊοΈ

Species richness heatmap, based on NDFF records

Just posted a short how-to on turning Dutch NDFF biodiversity data πŸŒΏπŸ“Š into species-richness heatmaps using QGIS and GDAL. Covers the basics: removing duplicates, filtering blurred records, dissolving per species, and rasterizing.

Just β€œdiscovered” the Merged Features renderer. What a neat, handy feature! Kudos to whoever came up with that one.

And yes, it’s been around for quite a while already, since around 2021, I believe 😊.

Trilium Notes Trilium is an open-source solution for note-taking and personal knowledge bases. Use it locally or sync with your own server to access notes anywhere.

Oh, for those who don't know Trilium, check it out ( https://triliumnotes.org/ ). It is a great note-taking app / personal knowledge base app.

Great job! πŸ™Œ

I just tried the latest Trilium Notes release with its redesigned interface.
It took me about 15 minutes to adjust, and now I’m sold.

Same powerful functionality, but with a calmer, cleaner look.
I suspect it’ll be much easier for new users to find their way through the many options.

Interoperable Europe Portal The Interoperable Europe Portal is the European Union’s platform for promoting and supporting interoperability, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across public administrations, businesses, and citizens. It acts as a one-stop shop for discovering, sharing, and reusing IT solutions and good practices.

I just stumbled across the site 'Interoperable Europe.' It seems worth looking into ( https://interoperable-europe.ec.europa.eu/ ). It is an initiative of the European Commission to stimulate public sector interoperability.

Always on the hunt for the ideal note-taking app. 🧠 I tried #Logseq , and while I loved the logbook, I prefer to organize my notes in a tree-like hierarchy. It helps me to keep an overview.

I therefore switched to TriliumNext ( https://github.com/triliumnext ). The option to place notes as
