I'm so thrilled that my translation of Roskva Koritzinsky's delicately gothic story "Night Watch" - about a woman who works the night shift at a psychiatric institution - is finally published over at Joyland Magazine. The first paragraph alone embodies everything I love about literary prose.

Special thanks are due to my editor Thomas Renjilian, who was so graceful in shepherding this story along through several drafts over the past year, and who helped me hone Roskva's frequently unwieldy sentences and tune them to the right pitch in English.
