Portlanders! I am looking for folks to help carry some giant puppets in the #stjohnsparade coming up on May 10th in #stjohns , #northportland , including this 6 person, 22 foot long "St Johns River Monster" puppet. Parade line-up starts at 11am by Roosevelt High School, parade rolls at noon.

Finally pulled the giant Green Man puppet head off the clay today!

Hoping to have him completed in time for May Day. His head is 3 feet tall x 2 feet wide, and all the clay was sculpted over a reusable corrugated plastic (corplast) core.
Next comes paper mache!

Catch PDX Monsters this Tuesday night at the Portland Mardi Gras Parade down N Mississippi Ave! Event starts at 7pm at N Albina and Humboldt, and ends with a street party at VonEbert Brewery, N Mississippi and Cook. There will be new monsters to meet!

Whew! It was a busy week for Monsters. Snow and ice kept most of the humans away from the secret monster lair during pdxwlf.com , but the monsters are looking forward to their next outing at the portlandmardigras.com parade: 7pm March 4th down N Mississippi Ave--that's 2 weeks from this Tuesday!

Round two tonight! Portland Winter Light Festival at Green Anchors, 6-10pm, 8940 N Bradford St.
Free parking at Cathedral Park boat ramp from 7-10pm

Sadly our cello+rock band Selver will not be able to play in Troll Alley tonight due to weather. But the Green Anchors garden and garden art will be beautifully illuminated, there will be hot drinks and sculpted lanterns in the pavilion, and the black light troll monsters will still be on display.

We are still planning to have lanterns displayed on Friday 2/14 in the Green Anchors pavilion, and the black light monsters will have a special 2/14 appearance at the artANTICa stage

Procession line up at Salmon Springs fountain 6:30, starts at 7pm going from the WTC plaza to Director Park. I am not organizing but am bringing a bunch of my lanterns with volunteers. Hoping the weather forecast improves so we can bring the 20 foot dragon puppet.
