I do agree with you on this but OP definitely had an implication that one could just find X substitute for money to incite equivalent action, which is completely untrue at an institutional level because I cannot just talk my way into making Kroger give me my groceries for free, for example.

Like, saying "money doesn't do things, people do" means very little when the reason why the people in question are doing things is because of the money, this is like the entire basis of what wealth inequality is and the effects it has on society as a consequence.

Yes but if you don't have the money then you need to find some other motivating force to take its place, and it's often a lot harder and less straightforward to find that through means other than money. It's a completely asymmetrical struggle and suggesting that it isn't is highly disingenuous imo.

The points being made all feel really reductive of the sheer power of money as a factor, though. These people ARE manipulating the world in ways that my friends and I are not inherently capable of, precisely because of the way that money acts as a motivating force in a world that is driven by it.
