As someone who watched her father die slowly over time, and then drove her father in law to the hospital as he was having a heart attack:

Nothing sends you to a god you haven’t spoken to in all your life than being helpless to help your parents when they are dying.

I have made it through two weeks of full time work without calling out due to a flare up. I’m proud of myself.
