06.02.2025 21:26 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0For everyone that has followed me recently, I'll follow back ASAP. I am out of the country right now with very limited access to data & internet. I will be home tomorrow & start adding everyone.
23.12.2024 21:53 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0After just 17 months, we have recouped the total cost of installing mini-split heat pumps in our house. Just over $5200 saved since we switched from oil to this technology.
17.12.2024 17:07 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Here we have the latest discovery released by world renowned archaeologists proving one of the stories in the Bible is real. Keith Richards pictured holding Adam & Eve.
17.12.2024 13:02 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yeah, but they also increased bills by $5-$8 in September. Another $6-$8 in February. Gouging & nothing more.
16.12.2024 20:26 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Well, Bell/Virgin are upping their rates again in February 2025. Customer Service Representative let it slip when I was on the phone disputing another increase on 2 of our lines.
16.12.2024 16:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This is troubling on a few levels. The union should have a right to strike & government should not interfere. That's collective bargaining.
The union has to also be concerned about the future of the corporation. This entity is in trouble & I can sense a desire to privatize from government.
If I were an American today, I would be embarrassed to actually admit that fact. Electing an alleged pedophile, convicted felon, fascist as president should just be enough for you to hang your heads in shame. My family in the USA are embarrassed & they voted for Trump as a joke. Well, jokes over.
12.12.2024 21:53 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Well, just found out when chatting about a recent increase to our services, Bell/Virgin are upping their prices again in February 2025. This is on top of the increase just this past September. The increase I was told would be between $5-$8 per month, depending on the services that you have.
12.12.2024 21:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Well, all the snow is gone thanks to the warm temperatures & rain. Green Christmas? Hope so.
12.12.2024 20:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Oh UPS. How is this an "expedited package".
1-3 business days from December 5th. It's now December 10th & you still haven't left Ontario with this package.
So, an online order that I just completed & was supposed to ship by UPS is now "delayed for weather event". Strange because the company just created the UPS shipping label & UPS doesn't have my package yet. lol

I was beginning to question why BlueSky was suddenly filled with pro-Trump / anti-Trudeau posters.
Now I know why
What a cesspool there. We need to keep things positive & helpful here
Elect a dictator who appoints morons to his cabinet, this is what you get. Unfortunately, the veterans in the USA will be the ones suffering.
10.12.2024 15:57 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I would have used it had I been sick but for me, I was very fortunate throughout my career to not to have needed my sick days. My spouse however, had to use theirs because of an injury sustained in a fall. Had I had my time back, I would have used it all before retiring. lol
10.12.2024 15:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Before I retired, I got 2 PL days & finally 4 weeks vacation after 35 years service. Retired with 520 sick days on the books (zero compensation for never taking a sick day in 35 years).
10.12.2024 15:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The Canada Post strike has the union making the following demands.

I retired 4 years ago from a long career in IT. I love technology as well. It's just something that keeps my mind active. Until I want to throw it against the wall like yourself. lol
Wasn't it fascinating times??? lol
I was self-taught when I entered my computer programming courses at university. Popular Science magazine was what I used to learn. My first major application went into production when I was 14. It was a large POS system for a building supply company.
There is ZERO connection between vaccines and autism!

It's a government entity yes, but it's still a corporation that needs to make a profit. Do you honestly think that Pierre Poilievre is going to open up the coffers to support CP or CBC, because right now, he's the favourite to win the next election?
10.12.2024 11:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You haven't used any AutoDesk product or any ESRI software then (and I wrote code in the 1970s - Assembler, NetBasic, RPG, COBOL ... ugh).
10.12.2024 11:02 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This seems like a problem...especially given the new crop public health officials we're about to get who all seem dedicated to voodoo health care...

While this strike has not affected me, it has hurt many small businesses. IMO, the union also needs to recognize that Canada Post is nearly bankrupt. Either something changes or these 55,000 union members will be unemployed. The writing is on the wall & the union is blind to this fact.
10.12.2024 10:59 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 02 NL businesses closing. "Whink" & "NL Weavery".
Had the opportunity to visit both on a trip to St. John's, NL this past year. Beautiful items but way overpriced. We found some of the same items being sold here for 1/4 the cost elsewhere. People just cannot afford to spend like they used to.
