Using linear regression, based on data from 318 soil landscapes, if we assume that human activity intensity does not influence the relationship between livestock provisioning and bird-watching recreation (a), then we might conclude that there is no effect between these two services. However, when controlling for human activity intensity (b), a direct trade-off is found because human activity intensity positively influences both services.

How do human drivers shape ecosystem services and their interactions? The answer impacts policy and management.

Sync in richness decreases with spatial, environmental, and functional distance; but sync in biomass only is induced by functional similarity. The decrease in stability with sync indicates that preserving large and heterogeneous ecosystems is essential to ensure their stability, pls repost!
