Update 3, 3/2/2026: Seven Seas removed "independent publisher" from their bios and briefly removed mention of light novels/danmei, which have been re-added.

They issued a statement on AI which contradicts Media Do's and does not yet confirm there will be no usage of AI in their production.

Update: TGCF Short Film 1 was re-uploaded in full to Bilibili's YouTube channel, and both Short Film 1 and Short Film 3 now have full English closed captions! Make sure to give the official uploads some love so we can get more shorts in the future.

this is very deliberately vague wording that mentions nothing about whether you'll continue working with your translators so what's your statement on that

If you start using AI translation, i will no longer purchase your releases at all. you can promise "no changes" all you want, but you were bought by a company heavily invested in AI translation technology. are you going to stand by your "No AI TL" stance?

If SSE starts to use AI translations in any of their products, I (and many others, naturally) will no longer purchase from them. Give human translators their due, and do not kick them out in favor of a machine. Make the right choice.
