I think what frustrates me so much about this current moment is that we're supposed to have *settled* these questions.

Quite literally just saw an argument that the military represents an opportunity for the marginalised to climb out of poverty as if the choice to secure your future by serving the empire that oppresses you and yours, at the expense of the colonised, is in any way morally exculpatory.
