There was a slight sheepish smile on her face as she listened to the mild reprimand, it was replaced, although subtly with wistful sorrow.

“ I’m sorry, it was a dumb question to let slip out. Asking strangers things like that is rude. ℬ𝓊𝓉, as per your advice, I’ll be more careful. ”

She shifts around a bit to find the buckle. She clicks it secure and gives thumbs up.

“Ready!”

“ Just? I think there’s a certain charm to it. Being the ‘rock’ that fooled human scientists into thinking it was a planet. Even if thats not entirely accurate… But I suppose Neptune is fine. Is it really blue? ”

“ Well, the furthest I’ve ever been is the moon and it took fooooooreeeeeever. So, I want to see what it looks like from the furthest point in the solar system. ”

With her good arm, she snapped her fingers, releasing a small burst of sparks.

“ Hey, if you’re so old, do you ever miss anyone who… died… too soon? ”

Following Morgana’s lead (somewhat), Empyria sat down on the ground a few feet from the stump.

“ Normally? Nah. I was trying to pull off some dumb trick in the air and it backfired. Turns out I’m not nearly as good at flying AND using magic as I thought. ”

“ Hmm… What about the edge of the solar system? Pluto? ”

“ Family heirlooms as far as I know. Fate has the chance to do the funniest thing and reveal them to be something like a boring gold goblet. ”

She shrugged.

“ I’m doing this since I got a lot of time to kill and not a lot to do with it. What about you? What do you spend your time doing ? ”

“ This is like if I showed you a huge map of Earth and said, pick somewhere. All these dots and colours don’t mean a whole lot to me. ”

She leaned in towards the screen.

“ A whole lot of responsibility in picking my first impression of being outside this solar system. ”

She let the ruby key drop back down, jingling as it hit the other emerald and topaz keys.

“ But, anyone else who knows about the boxes might try to dig them up and break them open without the keys. ”

“ Right? So elaborate… But I guess it’s one way to make sure the right person is digging up family heirlooms. ”

She held up one of the keys by the teeth, it had a ruby embedded in it.

“ An old friend asked me to take care of them when he passed. You need two keys to open each lockbox. ”

There was an extended pause as she swallowed down another bite of donut before she replied.

“ Nope. Not really. ”

Her tone was chipper as she answered. She reached for the lid of her box of donuts and slowly closed it with one finger.

“ Whatcha’ listening to ? ”

Her crimson gaze looked up.

Crimson eyes light up watching the transformation. She is hesitant to step onto the ramp, glancing around as she finally does.

“ Woah, this is so weird. Is it weird having passengers? ”
