Listen, my cat smacks the blinds like he wants to go out and when I go into the next room to check on him every single time he's already on the couch waiting to get skritches, I always fall for it

Note that he uses the Joe Rogan defense: he's just "asking questions", and claims that he isn't saying that AIs are conscious, so he never has to defend his POV.

Pretty sure they're just going to immediately crash into each other

I still love that when they confuse Gandalf's usage of "skinchanger" with "hunter who kills and skins animals" he implies that mentioning that to Beorn is a quick way to get him to absolutely murder the lot of them

Damn it, I should've scrolled down before replying

Bothan Space is in the Delta Quadrant. No, seriously

D'oh, I didn't even consider that you were talking about seeing them in the show rather than existing screencaps online!

Where's the links/images, Nick! I'm dying to see a clear map...

I have a planet in Star Wars named after me.

My immediate thought was Infocom's "Plundered Hearts"

Punctuated by a classic Marvel punching sound, too!

Raising Steam, I think, suffers in comparison to some of the "golden age" books because it really does feel like a send-off from Pratchett on the adult Discworld books and is more diffuse as a result - it also touches on a subject that resonates rather strongly these days.

What are the feelings about Shadowrun's London Sourcebook?

The last of Gibson's Sprawl Trilogy goes right into that, with a whole section set in London with gangsters and such...

Star Frontiers, I think

Caravan was one those cool little games where you play and it's utterly incomprehensible until you've done it five or six times and then suddenly it comes into focus and you understand it

Yeah, I never finished watching "Chuck", and considering there's now a double-dose of nope based on who stars in it, I doubt I ever will

There was an episode of "Max Headroom" in the 80s that was exactly this - a church that promises loved ones would live on digitally to converse with you, that were just really simple programs

An homage to Thieves World!

The Highlander movie was hugely popular with drama students at my high school, and one of them convinced me to watch Highlander 2 with them. After it was over, they admitted they hadn't seen it and just assumed "it would be as good as the first one".

Ah yes, Richard Moll as the Kurgen! The show managed to even have a spinoff. And as long as Highlander 2 exists, it will never be the worst Highlander

Oh, it ended a high-level campaign I was running - the players just waded into combat and traps relying on their "only fail a save on a one" but they bitterly complained I was destroying their magic items when they waded into dragonfire

Actually, I had forgotten Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines - that came out in 2004!

I was going to say the Witcher video game, which also came out in 2007; you get "collectible cards" of your conquests.

It must be a coincidence, considering that he was born six years after this, but I immediately thought of Mythos author Richard Tierney

Ah, but they came back in Paizo's final issue of Dragon Magazine to do just that!

I remember that were some 'preview' videos of F:NV released before the game - one where E-DE is cruising along and gets shot, and another with Vic digging the courier up, his face constantly changing expressions

Naturally, I had to immediately check the Fleet Junkies thread, read your post, and then post something as well
