Citing "the grind of the extensive touring lifestyle", fans will be aware of the stroke McBrain suffered in 2023, and his subsequent revelations that he had to change how he played certain songs live.

Nicko McBrain, Iron Maiden's drummer for the past 42 years has played his final gig with the band.

In a statement on Maiden's official channels, McBrain made the surprise announcement saying "Today, Sat, Dec 7th, Sao Paulo will be my final gig with Iron Maiden."
