I've been a wildlife biologist for more than 4 decades and I can't tell the difference between tundra and trumpeter swans (with confidence) on the wing. We brought back trumpeter swans from the brink: this could put all that work at risk.

There's a healthy, mature elm tree in my front yard. A few years ago, we learned that that the roots were crushing our sewer line. The city recommended cutting.

I couldn't face losing the tree, so I had my sewer line completely relocated.

I don't mourn the money. I'd have mourned the tree.
