Thought I’d give something a little different a try.

This is old, I had it scheduled but it went up just prior to me finishing a bigger writing project

What I’m saying is, sorry, there might be up to three Patreon posts today…

Dammit.
I usually try to keep things to a post a day (unless it’s like a public & free version of something concurrently).

But a scheduled post went up just as I was finishing up a big post AND I was hoping to have some art so the people that like art over writing had something

I only just heard Venture Brothers first aired 23 years ago this past week.

So I have one big writing project everyone has been waiting for, close to done (holding up other things because I’m trying to prioritize posting it first), another story very closed to finished, a vignette banked (set to go up tomorrow as of now), & like four or five quick ones like it in the works.

Got a last minute invite to go to a show last night.
Forgot earplugs. Ended up directly in front of a speaker.

Permanent hearing loss aside, at the very least, this might be a boon for me to try & block everything else out, & get some writing done today.

Thinking about running a poll on my Patreon that's more of a survey

Gauge what kinds of details/features/types of characters folks are into the most, since I tend to do a lot of one-off characters

Goths? Office workers? Redheads? With or without glasses?

I know what I'm into but what about you?

It’s convoluted, but I promise it’s actually pretty quick in practice. And a timesaver, especially considering how many bubbles I spam on my things, I promise LoL

Hide one that I treat as a template & duplicate for however many bubbles I need, & start adding the actual text, center it in the balloon & scale til it feels right. Duplicate the template for as many as I need.

Then for the cursor, I just use the linear selection tool just make a triangle

(Optional: I warp in the shape inward both horizontally & vertically to make it more square).

Once you have this, you can copy it between projects.

But when I need it, I add a text layer (& format the typography), group the text & the bubble together. Duplicate, GROUP both groups…

Similar to the thing I did where I premade squares in my other comment, I get a thick hard brush without taper (the one I made to do color flats). I drag & hold a big oval (bigger than I plan on ever using), Fill it with the color…
